3 Steps to combat S.A.D.The fall is here and winter is coming soon… people who suffer from the Seasonal Affective Disorder are already cringing because they know what is in store in just a few short months… I am here to offer some hope and lend some optimism for those who are ready to take their happiness into their own hands. We are accustomed to looking for external sources to provide us with happiness and that includes the weather.
The first step in taking your happiness by the reigns is making the decision to be happy no matter what! You can even sign the happiness decision provided by the happiness club to commemorate your decision. Next you can build in certain happiness activities into your daily routine like creating a gratitude practice or a kindness practice. The gratitude practice is something we can do every day no matter what, all you need to do is recite things that you are grateful for. Here is the trick, never ever repeat! We want our gratitude to consistently increase and we really do have endless things to be grateful for. The next recommendation is to start a kindness practice. All this entails is to perform 5 acts of kindness a day. They can be simple. You can tell someone they have a nice smile, or compliment someone on their unique style, hold a door open for someone, pick up trash from the ground… again the list goes on and on… Three steps to happiness …
