Happiness Research
AHA plans to conduct scientific research in the field of happiness. As a relatively new field of scientific study, happiness research has a long way to go in just about every department. Some of the more challenging happiness questions are:
- What happiness activities, environmental changes, mindsets, and beliefs will allow individuals to experience happiness as a trait that can be sustained over time?
- Since certain happiness boosters work better in some people than others, what can we learn about this to help happiness coaches, therapists, health care workers, and well-being advocates be more effective?
- What role does happiness play in the workplace? In schools?
- Why do certain personalities so strongly resist happiness?
- How can we accurately measure long-term, sustaining happiness in people?
As the American Happiness Association matures, we will be taking on these questions and more.
As a member of the American Happiness Associaiton, you may be asked periodically to take happiness surveys and questionnaires. Your answers shape the happiness studies that will shed light on how our planet can be happier. Thank you for your contribution!
